Poemsource.com Expands Valentine Poem Offerings to Meet Valentine’s Day Demand

Cocolalla, ID (PRWEB) January 18, 2006

New, original Valentine’s Day poems recently posted at http://www.poemsource.com include Valentine love poems, and Valentine friend, teacher, and family poems. In addition, a separate page has been added for the frequently searched for category, “funny Valentine poems,” which includes the popular rhyming Valentine story poem, “Since My Valentine Got A Computer.” The funny Valentine page also has “Valentine Zoo,” “Valentine Superhero,” and “Valentine, You’re Food for My Soul, which includes the lines, “The thought of your lips makes my mouth start to water, ‘Cause they remind me of barbecue more than they oughter.”

Another page has been added just for kid Valentine poems. Remember the short rhyming poems that came on our Valentines when we were kids — poems like “Roses are red, violets are blue…? They’re baaaack! Greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs says kid Valentine poems are one of the most popular categories, but they’re hard to find. “I’ve written a bunch of four-line rhyming poems for kids — for their friends and family — some on the main Valentine page, and a lot more on the kid Valentine poem page,” she says.

“It’s hard to find rhyming poems anymore,” she adds. “Everything is free verse. People have a strong feeling of nostalgia for the traditional rhyming poems. They strike a chord. And Valentine greetings are so popular. Last year over a million people searched ‘Valentine poems’ or ‘Valentine Day poems’ or ‘Valentine poetry’ and that doesn’t count more specific searches, like ‘Valentine love poem.’ ‘mother Valentine poem,’ etc.”

Fuchs says she’s been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. “When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them,” she says, and I’m still doing it. The site is about a year old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it.”

In addition to Valentine poems, the site includes anniversary, birthday, baby, friendship, graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, teacher, and wedding poems, love poems, Christmas and New Year poems.

You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through.
