St. Patrick’s Day Parade & SHAMROCK Austin Festival is Accepting Entries for the World’s Greatest Limerick Writer Contest

Austin, Texas. Austin’s first-ever St. Patrick’s Day Parade & SHAMROCK Austin Festival is soliciting entries from Central Texans who wish to hold the title of World’s Greatest Limerick Writer. The Parade & Festival will feature floats, giant helium balloons, a battle of the bands, racing leprechauns, fun for all, and much, much more.
“Anyone can enter the World’s Greatest Limerick Writer Contest, and everyone should,” says Darryl Mobley, chairman of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & SHAMROCK Austin Festival to be held in Austin, Texas on March 18, 2006.
Prizes will be awarded to limerick writers in the categories that follow:

· Most Original
· Best Central Texas-Themed
· Most Entertaining
· Most Persuasive
· Most Informative
· Best Celtic-Themed
“All anyone – men, women, children, the young and the old, the shy & the bold – need do is write and submit a five-line limerick about Ireland, Scotland, Wales, leprechauns, anything to do with St. Patrick’s Day in general, or St. Patrick’s Day in Central Texas in particular, or really, anything at all – and submit it to us at Limerick@KeepAustinFun.com — and you could be crowned the World’s Greatest Limerick Writer,” says Mr. Mobley. What is a limerick? A limerick is a humorous or insightful 5-line poem in which lines one, two and five rhyme, and lines three and four form a rhymed couplet.

The first ever St. Patrick’s Day Parade & ShamROCK Austin Festival will be held on Saturday March 18, 2006 on Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas.
