Summer’s On-the-Water Soundtrack: Discover Boating Names Top Boating Songs

It’s peak boating season and as America’s 66 million boaters take to the water, their soundtrack is what will help create some of their most memorable times on the water. That’s why Discover Boating, the recreational boating industry’s non-profit awareness program, announced today its picks for top boating songs, as well as the launch of a series of activity-themed playlists on DiscoverBoating.com to get boaters rocking whether wakeboarding, cruising, sailing or fishing.
Boating enthusiasts can sample songs and purchase mp3 files for their own on-the-water mixes through the iTunes playlists, as well as suggest songs for future Discover Boating playlists.
“Nothing beats a sunny day out on a boat with good friends and great music – it’s what so many of us love about summer,” says Carl Blackwell, vice president for Discover Boating. “We identified some of the most popular nautical-themed songs to help illustrate why when combined, boating and music create an unbeatable on-the-water experience.”
Discover Boating surveyed a network of boating experts and people who love life on the water to select some of the most popular songs about–and best enjoyed while–boating. Listed in alphabetical order by song title, here are Discover Boating’s top boating songs:
