You’ll Never Travel Alone with Travelscene American Express

Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) August 18, 2011

A fellow Australian was travelling in America recently and lost his passport just before heading back home. He called his travel agent, Belinda Cleggett of Travelscene @Magic Travel in Western Australia, who not only had a copy of his passport on file, but who then contacted Immigration on his behalf and forwarded the copy plus all the other documents they needed. He was on the next flight home with his 8-month pregnant wife.

Would your travel agent do that?

Or how about this: A young couple had just disembarked from a Mediterranean cruise when they realised they’d left a precious watch in their cabin safe. Not knowing who else to call, they placed a call to their travel agent on the way to the airport. With the cruise office closed in Miami due to the time difference, the travel agent, Cathy Natoli, of Travelscene at Laze Away Travel in the Sydney suburb of Five Dock, managed to track down a contact in Greece where the ship was still moored, talk to the staff on board and find the watch. It was couriered back to Australia within 4 days.

Or what about the Australian family undertaking a Mt Everest trek from Kathmandu when they were struck down by severe altitude sickness and needed immediate assistance? Benita Molitor of South Australian-based Prestige Travel Management went above and beyond to find the solution – a flight from Kathmandu to Calcutta with Indian Airlines and a rerouting of their Singapore Airlines booking to get them to Singapore where she’d also organised a room at Changi Airport Hotel with all the vouchers, confirmations, eTickets emailed through to the client. End result – the family were back in Australia, relaxed and relieved within just 36 hours of their call for help.

Let’s face it. The travel industry is in a constant state of flux, generally caused by forces out of our control – like ash clouds and airport security threats, strikes and, god forbid, natural disasters. But we are only human, and sometimes our personal travel gets jeopardised because of our own misgivings. We forget things, loose things, become unwell, or suddenly become afraid of heights once we reach the Nepalese highlands.

If life has taught us anything, it is that you just can’t plan for everything, but you can take steps to ensure that if something does go wrong, you’re in safe hands. That capacity is exactly what Australia’s leading travel agency group, Travelscene American Express is showcasing with the launch of its “You’ll Never Travel Alone” Client Advocacy Campaign.

The multi-level campaign provides Members with the opportunity to reinforce with existing and potential clients, the value of dealing with a licensed travel agent, and the benefits that flow from being part of the Travelscene American Express network.

“By formalising our Members’ commitment to providing their clients with the best possible travel solution, and by showcasing the lengths that our Members regularly go to in order to help their clients have the best travel experience possible, especially if something goes wrong, our Client Advocacy Campaign is a real market advantage for our Members,” Travelscene American Express General Manager, Jacqui Timmins said.

The market-leading initiative has been developed based on Member feedback and celebrates the knowledge and expertise in our network as well as the extensive range of Preferred Suppliers and products on offer enabling our Members to meet their clients’ needs.

“In addition to highlighting the many benefits of dealing with an experienced, licensed, travel agent, we’re celebrating the passion, enthusiasm and experience of our Members and helping them stand out in the marketplace,” Ms Timmins said. “Travelscene American Express Members are the best placed to be their clients’ advocate when it comes to travel.”

Ms Timmins said initial response had been overwhelmingly positive.

“The fact that Travelscene is prepared to formalise our commitment to delivering the best possible travel outcome for our Members’ clients is already proving a huge hit with existing and potential clients, as well as with Members.”

The initiative is being progressively rolled out across the Travelscene American Express network.

Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it’s nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.
